EMSA 2000 is the third conference of a series started in lasi (1996) and continued in Sheffield (1998). It serves the purpose to assess the status, recent progress, and development in the field of magnetic sensor technology and magnetic actuators. The meeting is jointly organized by the Dresden University of Technology and the Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden.

EMSA 2000 intends to bring together scientists and engineers working in the research and development of magnetic sensors and actuators. It will provide a forum for the discussion of both fundamental problems and application-oriented issues.

Major topics of the EMSA 2000 are:

• materials,

• physical phenomena,

• modelling and simulation,

• technical concepts, applications,

• miniaturization, microsensors and –actuators.
